Healing is a long and complex journey for women and girls who have been trafficked into the sex trade. Long after they have been rescued or escaped, survivors have to deal with traumatic memories; simply feeling safe, or being able to trust another person, can take a great effort.
As part of this healing process, last week Blue Dragon took 15 young survivors out of Hanoi to a spend a few days at the beach. Apart from being out in nature, the girls spent time in group therapy sessions, practicing meditation, and learning to enjoy life again. While there is no magic cure for the trauma that they live with, occasions like this can be a huge help to the survivors of sex trafficking in getting their lives back on track.
