It’s been a big year of ups, downs and inspirational stories at Blue Dragon. We’ve rounded up every podcast in which we made an appearance in 2024 so you can relive some of the biggest moments or hear about them for the first time.

1. Why Should We Care about the IndoPacific?: Why Should We Care about Human Trafficking in Vietnam?

Why should the world care about human trafficking in Vietnam? That was the topic as Blue Dragon founder Michael Brosowski appeared on James Carouso and Ray Powell’s podcast: “Why Should We Care About the Indo-Pacific?”

In a wide-ranging discussion, Michael talks about the changing landscape of human trafficking in Southeast Asia, why it’s a global problem, and how we are able to conduct cross-border rescue operations of people who have been trafficked abroad.

2. The Vietnam Weekly Podcast: Responding to Typhoon Yagi

Between scrubbing the mud off of people’s homes and coordinating our Typhoon Yagi relief effort from the field, Blue Dragon co-CEO Skye Maconachie joined Mike Tatarski on The Vietnam Weekly Podcast.

In this brief but lively conversation, Skye discusses Blue Dragon’s immediate response to the devastation brought by Typhoon Yagi. She touches on the needs of people affected by the storm in both Hanoi and the northern mountains before explaining the importance of long-term support.

In August, Blue Dragon co-CEO Vi joined the Cay Nen Song Xanh talkshow to chat about his journey from street kid to CEO. He goes into detail about the joys of helping street kids like himself, and our mission to end human trafficking for good.

4. I’m the worst with Claire Hooper: Michael Brosowski

According to Michael, his appearance on this well-known comedy podcast is “Rather different to most of my interviews and definitely worth listening to.”

Claire’s style is to take her interviewees to task over things they regret doing. Michael has great fun recounting stories from the early days of Blue Dragon, and talks about the important role of humour amid the seriousness of our work.

5. You Don’t Know Vietnam: fighting the dark side of Vietnam’s rapid development: human trafficking

Michael talks about the darker sides of Vietnam’s rapid economic development and describes which communities are most at risk. He tells the story of how Blue Dragon began, recounts the first ever rescue mission, and outlines what success looks like for Blue Dragon in Vietnam.

6. That’s what C! said: Leadership lessons – a nonprofit on the front lines of child trafficking

Michael was in conversation with Lee Wochner, of Counterintuity, a marketing strategy agency. In this edition of the That’s what C! Said podcast Michael and Lee discussed the challenges and triumphs of building and leading a non-profit that now helps more than 20,000 children in need every year.

Blue Dragon’s Kim Miller was invited onto the What About Vietnam podcast for a conversation with host Kerry Newsome. As well as some lighthearted travel tips, the pair discussed the more serious matter of human trafficking in Vietnam.

This compelling conversation delves into how patterns in human trafficking have changed since the Covid-19 pandemic. Michael provides insights on Blue Dragon’s response to Southeast Asia’s human trafficking crisis, which has gathered pace over the past two years
