2nd place in 400m race for trafficking survivor

October 9, 2016

When ‘Trang’ won 2nd place in the 400m race at the District Championship, nobody at the award ceremony knew that 2 years ago, she had run for her life. She was just in Grade 6 when she was sold as a forced bride to a Chinese man. After 3 months in captivity, she tried to escape. At 11pm, when he was asleep, she quietly left the house and ran.  She ran for hours, and hours – until the sun came up over the horizon. Blue Dragon helped with her return to Vietnam and supported her with her education. She’s now in Grade 9, and a champion in so many ways!
