Blue Dragon is continuing to support communities devastated by severe flooding in north-central Vietnam
Tropical Storm Wipha hit north-central Vietnam in July, bringing devastating floods and landslides to rural communities. Blue Dragon immediately brought emergency aid and relief to those affected.
Just as people began to rebuild their homes and lives, another tropical storm struck the same area.
In Nghe An province where Blue Dragon is working to prevent human trafficking, roads and bridges were washed away in the floods, making it extremely challenging to access affected communities.
Once again, Blue Dragon navigated flooded roads and hillsides as we delivered food and supplies to people who had lost so much.
“Thanks so much to all the kind-hearted people who helped us,” shares one man who got his family to safety as the flood rose above their heads. “I had a small business selling bedding items but I lost it in the flood. I was fortunate as I live close to the main road. I know many people were isolated by the floods.”

So far, over 1,700 people have received essential supplies from food staples to new school stationery and generators to provide a sustainable energy supply. From individuals to organisations like the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives, people across the world have stepped up to give a lifeline to families who lost everything.
Just like after Typhoon Yagi last September, we will make sure that communities come back stronger and ready to thrive.
