Blue Dragon is working with schools across Vietnam to protect young people from human trafficking

March 12, 2026

For children to thrive, they must first be safe. In Tuyen Quang province in Vietnam’s mountainous north, Blue Dragon is working with schools to protect thousands of students with a new anti-trafficking curriculum.

Tuyen Quang province is home to 1.8 million people, and many communities there face economic hardship and limited access to information which increases their vulnerability to trafficking and exploitation. By working directly within the education system, Blue Dragon is laying the groundwork for long-term prevention — ensuring that children have the knowledge and support they need to stay safe.

The program is structured around five key modules:

  • Human trafficking and its consequences
  • Understanding victims and traffickers
  • Online safety
  • Preventing child labour
  • Implementing trafficking prevention initiatives in schools

To support the program, Blue Dragon partnered with the Tuyen Quang Department of Education and Training to deliver a two-day training workshop. Hundreds of teachers from 75 schools took part, learning how to use the curriculum materials and deliver engaging practical lessons to students.

Our next goal is to expand the program to other provinces and finally to introduce the curriculum nationally.

Ending human trafficking requires strengthening the systems that protect children every day. By equipping teachers and students with knowledge, practical tools and leadership opportunities, this initiative is helping build communities where children are informed, supported and more resilient to exploitation.
