How do you begin to rebuild the lives of trafficked girls who have been abused, traumatized and enslaved in China? Blue Dragon’s answer is to provide them with the best care possible. It starts with the simple provision of clothes, medical check-ups, and hot meals, to the more intensive psychological counselling and social work support.
An independent evaluation of this service was just conducted, and the results were shared with other INGOs, NGOs, clinicians and government bodies. Blue Dragon’s model of care is comprehensive, flexible and tailored for each individual. The survivors who were interviewed said that Blue Dragon’s psychological counselling and support to study were the 2 most significant contributions to changing their lives. “I can now dream big,” said one survivor, and another said, “Blue Dragon is my second mum”.
It is hoped that by sharing what Blue Dragon has done, we can improve the standard of care for trafficking survivors everywhere.
