Highlights of 2025

2025 has been a year of challenge and achievement for Blue Dragon. With the support of our incredible global community, we have pushed our work in new directions while facing fresh obstacles head on.
In 2025, we opened a children’s centre in Ho Chi Minh City where children can come to play games, take classes and receive care in a safe space. The centre complements our work on the streets with children and families who are homeless, out of school and out of work. Thank you so much to everyone who donated for the startup costs. Because of you, kids like Minh, Cong, Quang and Ha are safe to thrive.
As well as Ho Chi Minh City, we expanded our work in the north-central province of Nghe An. With a high number of people living in poverty, Nghe An is a hotspot for trafficking. People across the region are lured with false promises of steady work, only to be sold and enslaved by criminal gangs. With this expansion, we are able to implement programs and initiatives to prevent this awful crime before it begins.
In our rescue work, we have brought home 296 people from slavery. In one operation, we rescued a record 68 people from forced online scamming in Myanmar. Some had been enslaved for years, and all of them had faced unimaginable horrors, pleading with us to bring them water as they hadn’t been allowed to drink for days on end. We reached out to the Blue Dragon community for help – and you answered. As the donations came in, we completed the extremely complex task of helping these brave people to slip past their captors and make the long trek back to Vietnam.
Between July and November, tropical storms devastated communities across the country. Homes, bridges and roads crumbled and floated away in the floods, causing thousands of people who had almost nothing to lose everything. By boat, bike and foot, we delivered emergency support to children and families cut off by the floods, providing over 1,600 people with life-saving food and shelter.
Around the world, the Blue Dragon community stepped up to change lives in the Blue Dragon Walk, raising a record breaking high of over $500,000. That money will keep children in school, provide families with life-changing support and prevent human trafficking before it begins in vulnerable communities throughout the country.
On top of all this, we have assisted hundreds of street children, implemented community initiatives to make families more resilient to human trafficking, kept kids in school and so much more.
