A new bridge for safe travel to school

September 15, 2017

Ten year old ‘Mai’ and her friends in Hong Sot village, high up in the mountains of Vietnam, have a reason to be excited to go to school this week – a new bridge across the river!

The broken old bridge represented a significant danger to Mai’s classmates on their way to school every morning. And every day, the bridge was crumbling before their eyes. Now, with metal beams replacing rotten timber, more than 70 children all around the area can get to school safely.

The money for this bridge was donated in memory of Glenn Phillips, a great friend of Blue Dragon and lover of rickety bridges in the northern mountains.
