Blue Dragon’s Rescue Team has just brought two young Vietnamese women home from China. They were trafficked together from southern Vietnam by an older woman who befriended them and offered to take them on holiday in the north.
Sold to Chinese husbands, one of the women tried many times to escape and eventually attempted suicide. While she was in hospital, the doctors notified the police and she was taken into protection, where she reported that her friend had also been trafficked. Blue Dragon was conducting another rescue operation in the area, so we were able to help the two women cross the border and make statements to Vietnamese police.
Both are now heading home together and very glad to finally be safe.
