Trafficking survivor awarded Kid of the Month

May 24, 2017

‘Tuyet’ spent two years in a sweatshop, locked away and forced to labour for up to 18 hours every day. Blue Dragon rescued her in January 2017 and helped her to return to school. Just 14 years old, she has shown great resilience and determination by catching up with the lessons she missed for 2 years with the help of a volunteer. She has been recognised as ‘Kid of the Month’ for her amazing effort. What is even more incredible is what she said when asked what gift she would like.
“Since I was rescued and came home, Blue Dragon has supported me with everything I need. Please give the gift to other kids who are more in need than me.”
We are inspired by her generosity and the fact that her beautiful spirit was not crushed by her traumatic experience.
