Trafficking Survivor Graduates from Hairdressing Course

April 9, 2017
‘Tra’ was trafficked to work in a sweatshop when she was in Grade 9. She was locked up and endured working for 17 hours every day until her rescue by Blue Dragon. She returned to school, and finished Grade 12 with Blue Dragon’s support.
She didn’t know what to do then and worked on a construction site for a while. After that, she tried a cooking course but decided that becoming a chef was not for her. So Blue Dragon helped her to enroll in a hairdressing course. Tra just graduated with flying colours, and is now working in a hair salon. She has come a long way and instead of dreaming about freedom, Tra is now dreaming of owning her own salon.
