Two teen girls set free from slavery

March 23, 2018

16 year old ‘Dao’ lives in the mountains of northern Vietnam. Leaving school after grade 9, she had never thought about human trafficking or that it might one day happen to her.

When an older friend, 23 year old ‘Lam’, invited Dao and her cousin on a trip, she thought she would be home again soon – but instead was sold to two men in China. Lam pocketed $2000, and the two teen girls were enslaved.

Dao and her cousin were eventually set free by Chinese police, who contacted Blue Dragon to bring them home. Dao’s statement to police has already led to Lam’s arrest, and soon he will face court for his crime. Blue Dragon’s lawyers are preparing the case and we’ll make sure Dao and her cousin see justice done.
