Meet The Board

Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation International

 

The board’s principal objectives are to provide development, governance and funding to Blue Dragon in Vietnam. All directors and members are fully voluntary.

Blue Dragon International is an Australian not for profit public company limited by guarantee (ABN: 76 142 233 207).  

Tony Jacobs

Tony Jacobs

Chairperson

Tony is a highly experienced director of finance, with particular expertise in the construction industry.  He has worked in senior positions for major companies in Australia, the USA and throughout Asia, most recently as CFO with Leighton Asia.

Tony’s expertise in management and governance has enabled him to support the operations of Blue Dragon Vietnam with practical assistance and advice. He has also been an active fundraiser.

Thu-Anh Pham

Thu-Anh Pham

Director

Thu-Anh has worked in the field of medical laboratory testing since 1999, specialising in HIV / infectious diseases testing and implementation of quality management systems for laboratories. She spent many years working in resource-limited countries such as Vietnam, Mongolia and Myanmar developing and implementing quality systems in local laboratories.

Thu-Anh first became involved with Blue Dragon in 2012 after attending a fundraising event in Melbourne. She has been an active member of the Melbourne subcommittee ever since.

Carolynn Everett

Carolynn Everett

Director

Carolynn Everett worked for The Salvation Army for over twenty years, in various areas including Community Welfare. In 2002, Carolynn and her husband Doug moved to Dhaka, Bangladesh. Doug was the General Manager of Sally Ann – a Salvation Army Fair Trade project – and Carolynn worked with him there for several years.

Since coming home, she has been involved in various local volunteer activities.

Evan Campbell

Evan Campbell

Director

Evan has worked with children as a teacher and educational leader for the past 30 years and recently retired as the Principal of Tuggerah Public School in New South Wales. He travels extensively, using a love of motorcycling and kayaking as an excuse to visit less-travelled destinations.

Evan has a passionate belief in the basic rights of all children to safety, love, nourishment and an education, which has led him to be a supporter of Blue Dragon since its early days and a director since 2010.

Meke Kamps

Meke Kamps

Director

Meke currently works in an Australian not-for-profit group in Canberra. In 2009 she volunteered with Blue Dragon while living in Hanoi and later worked in management for 2 years. 

On leaving Blue Dragon, Meke joined the Board of BDI and continues to serve as a Director. 

Phillip Holland

Phillip Holland

Director

Phil is the Chief Financial Officer at Cooper Investors Pty Ltd, a Melbourne based equities fund manager and has been a member of the CI Staff Philanthropy Fund since inception in 2008. Phil, along with other members of the committee, share a passion for supporting a range of social purpose organisations providing access to education, a safe and happy childhood, improved health services and services for those marginalised & disadvantaged members of our global community. 

Phil lives in Melbourne with his wife Cassandra and young sons Thomas and Benjamin.

Roz Noble

Roz Noble

Director

Roz has many years of experience in accounting and administration in Sydney. A love of travel has also seen her work as a tour guide in Australia, Africa and SE Asia.

In 2008, Roz started volunteering with Blue Dragon and later joined the staff team for 12 months.

Roz now regularly volunteers for Blue Dragon and other charities in the region.

Sarah O'Bryan

Sarah O'Bryan

Director

Sarah has over 20 years media and communications experience across not-for-profit, state government and lifestyle sectors. Sarah has held management roles in the communications teams of the Department of Land, Water and Planning (Victorian Government), Heart Foundation Research Program and Very Special Kids.

Sarah volunteered in the communications team with Blue Dragon while living in Hanoi for 6 months in 2008. Following that she organised some fundraising events, gathering family and friends for the beginnings of a Melbourne support group.

Sarah lives in Melbourne with her husband and two young children. She has a love of travel, family and flowers (and also runs a small floral styling business in Melbourne).

Joff Macleod

Joff Macleod

Director

Joff has in excess of 35 years’ experience in the Chartered Accountancy profession. The majority of this time has been devoted to providing advisory services to private and family businesses in Australia.

Joff has a keen interest in agriculture which sees him sitting on the board and advising a number of large family groups and private enterprises in the food and agricultural sector throughout Australia. His interest in the agricultural sector extends to operating a small farm near Melbourne running a breeding herd of Angus cattle and other ‘pets’.

Joff has held various pro bono roles including a long-term board and Chair role with the Ardoch Youth Foundation which provides education support for disadvantaged youth in Australia. Joff has a passionate belief in the basic rights of children which is strongly aligned with the mission and values of Blue Dragon.
