Blue Dragon has received a Certificate of Achievement from Vietnam’s Ministry of Defence.
The certificate was awarded for our longstanding collaboration with Vietnam’s Border Guard – a crucial part of our mission to end human trafficking. Ending this horrendous crime requires cooperation and will power from people and organisations across Vietnam and beyond.
Since Blue Dragon began in 2004, we have rescued almost 2,000 people from human trafficking. These rescue missions are incredibly complex, and each one requires us to work closely with Vietnam’s border guards as we bring people home from slavery in neighbouring countries.
We also cooperate with the border guards in our work to prevent human trafficking before it begins. In many rural communities bordering countries such as China and Laos, we have set up groups of people from surrounding villages, including teachers, police officers and border guards, who educate residents on how to avoid exploitation and abuse while preventing the cycles of poverty that make people so vulnerable to these things in the first place.
We are extremely proud of our relationship with Vietnam’s Border Guard, and we keep collaborating with them as we work to protect people. By working together, we are creating a world where every child is safe to grow and thrive.
