Stage two of Blue Dragon’s Typhoon Yagi relief effort: The rebuild
Since Typhoon Yagi hit, the response from the global Blue Dragon community has been incredible. When we asked for help, people around the world came together in support.
As fast as Typhoon Yagi donations came in, we sent them out to families who had lost everything. To date, we have delivered life-saving food and supplies to over 2,000 people.

Blue Dragon has been delivering emergency food and supplies to those most affected.
Now that the water has receded, most of the roads are clear and families have been relocated to safe shelter, we can begin the next stage of our effort: the rebuild.
Over 250,000 homes were destroyed in the storm. Most of these houses were owned by families who were already struggling to survive.
And so Blue Dragon is starting to rebuild homes for families in the most remote and isolated locations. Along the way, we are providing household items like pots, pans and bedding to those whose belongings were washed away in the floods. Some of the families we are helping have never had simple kitchen appliances like rice cookers, stoves and electric fans before.
Now they do. Because we don’t want to rebuild homes for people only to leave them in the same struggle for survival they were in before the typhoon hit. We want to rebuild their lives so that they come out of this ordeal stronger and more resilient than ever.

Gathering materials to build a new home for a family living in the northern mountains.
To do this, we will cater our support plan to each family’s specific needs, providing psychological counseling, vocational training and equipment to help them start earning money from small businesses.
That is how we are creating lasting change for people whose lives have been turned upside down.

With our help, families can come out of Typhoon Yagi stronger than before.
